Welcome! I'm Elyse

When I began my photography journey, I had no idea what I wanted the end goal to be. I started doing it all - family sessions, events, second shooting weddings, boudoir. I found myself pulled in many directions and honestly being pulled away from my family.

I went from watching the sunset with my son playing outside to chasing other families at golden hour, snapping away. Weekends were no longer for family adventures, they were for weddings and events. 

In trying to build a business to support my family, I was getting further and further away from my family. 

I wanted to spend quality time with my baby and felt like I was on the wrong trajectory. 

Being a new mom was hard and I felt alone - but at the same time, I knew I wasn't alone; I knew other moms felt exactly how I felt. I asked myself who I wanted my business to serve and my heart said "stressed out parents with a newborn hollerin' at home - go to your people." 

I texted a few folks from High School who I hadn't seen in a decade, but who I knew were expecting. I made my pitch - let me into your home around your squishy new baby to see if this is meant for me. Many didn't reply, but a few said "sure, come on over!" 

Thus began my journey as a photographer specializing in in-home lifestyle newborn photography. I began phasing out all other work and have spent the last three years exclusively photographing sweet, fresh little babies in their homes. 

I now spend my weekends hiking with my son. I spend my evenings having dinner with my family. I spend my time doing things that are important to me. I'm so excited to help other photographers achieve the work-life balance they want, need, and deserve.
